The following BCO Awards are by
nomination or invitation only:
INNOVATION AWARD
The Innovation Award recognises significant innovation
in one or more areas, including unique or differentiated
design, materials, sustainability, technology, lighting,
procurement, social programme, mixed-use and
regeneration. Winners of this category are nominated
and chosen by the regional judges from any of the other
categories and presented at the Regional Awards. All
regional winners go on to compete for the national
Innovation Award. Please note, the national Innovation
Award winner will be chosen by the national judges
from any of the regional category winners, including
the regional innovation winners.
ENVIRONMENT, SOCIAL & GOVERNANCE
(ESG) AWARD
This award recognises a project that will have a gamechanging influence on the environment, social value,
governance or sustainable outcomes in the commercial
building sector. Winners of this category are nominated
and chosen by the regional judges from any of the other
categories and presented at the Regional Awards. All
regional winners go on to compete for the national ESG
Award. Please note, the national ESG winner will be
chosen by the national judges from any of the regional
category winners, including the regional ESG winners.
PRESIDENT’S AWARD
This special award is presented for an outstanding
contribution to the property industry. This might
be a project, company or individual, or perhaps a
combination of all three. The BCO president, national
judging chair and BCO chief executive choose the
recipient of this award and it is presented at the
National Awards dinner in October.
REGIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIR AWARD
This award is presented by the regional committee chair
for an outstanding contribution to the property industry
in the region. This might be a project, company or
individual, or perhaps a combination of all three. The
BCO regional committee chair, regional judging chair
and BCO regional committee choose the recipient of
this award.
JUDGES’ CHOICE AWARD
The Judges’ Choice Award gives the national judging
panel the opportunity to recognise a project that has
made an exceptional impression beyond the scope of
the established award categories.
Selected from among the National Awards finalists
and presented entirely at the discretion of the national
judging panel, the award may recognise a particular
achievement, quality or contribution that the judges
consider worthy of special distinction.
The Judges’ Choice Award is not presented
automatically each year and will only be awarded
where the panel believes a project merits this
additional recognition.
BCO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AWARD
This award recognises office buildings, business
parks and campuses where an outstanding customer
experience is provided by landlords, property
managers, corporate real estate professionals, facility
managers and/or their service partners to occupiers,
their employees, visitors and the wider community.
Entries for the Customer Experience Award are
managed separately from the main BCO Awards and
will open in early 2027, with the winners announced at
the BCO National Awards in October. Further details
on how to enter will be announced in due course.
